Aikido is unique in its approach, teaching practitioners to use an attacker's weight and momentum to disable or throw them. This non-aggressive and non-violent martial art emphasises blending with an incoming attack and redirecting the force with minimal effort.

As a member of the British Birankai, South Manchester Aikido Club provides internationally recognised grades, ensuring students receive top-quality instruction. The instructors, who are Dan grades (black belts), are fully certified and have undergone CRB checks. This ensures that members receive expert guidance from well-qualified instructors.
