Southern Districts Working Equitation Club Inc. (SDWE) is a thriving equestrian club located at The Magenup Equestrian Centre in Wandi, a suburb in the southern outskirts of Perth, Western Australia. The club was established in 2018 and has since been dedicated to providing a platform for riders to enjoy the exciting and versatile horse sport of working equitation.

The primary aim of SDWE is to foster a sense of connexion among riders who are passionate about engaging in a sport that not only challenges and entertains the rider but also promotes the harmonious partnership between horse and rider. Rooted in classical dressage, working equitation involves training the horse to become a proficient and cooperative working partner in various settings.

SDWE prides itself on being a highly inclusive club that welcomes riders of all backgrounds. Whether you ride a horse or pony, regardless of breed, and whether you prefer Western or Dressage tack, you are welcome to join the club as long as your equipment complies with safety standards.

If you are interested in exploring the diverse disciplines of classical dressage, obstacle riding, garrocha work, cattle herding skills, and more, SDWE is the perfect club for you. We invite participants aged 13 and above who are eager to learn and engage in the world of working equitation. Please note that horses must be at least 4 years of age for participation.

SDWE offers a range of activities and events to cater to the interests and skill levels of its members. These include rallies, clinics, competitions, training days, and an annual fun day. Rallies are typically held once a month, usually on Sundays, providing ample opportunities for riders to connect and practise their skills.

As a non-profit association, SDWE is incorporated and operates according to the Model Rules set by the Western Australian government. The club is committed to promoting fair and safe practises within the sport of working equitation.
