South Auckland Rangers AFC is a prominent soccer club based in Auckland, New Zealand. Known as “The Home of Soccer in South Auckland,” the club is dedicated to providing a platform for players of all ages and skill levels to develop their soccer abilities and foster a passion for the sport.
The club offers various programmes and teams for both junior and senior players. In the Junior Football Team, player skill development and the introduction to team concepts are prioritised in these grades. A certain level of fitness is required, and team trainings incorporate a portion of time dedicated to fitness and conditioning. The 09 and 10 grade football is played as 7-a-side matches on a junior-sized pitch using a size 4 football.
These grades also participate in the Auckland Football Federation club competition. For the 11 and 12 grade football, matches are played as 9-a-side games on a larger junior-sized pitch also with a size 4 football.
For senior players, the club recommends a maximum of 20 registered players per team, but only 16 players can be fielded on match days. Players must be fully registered and have made full payment to represent the club. Un-financial players or those with outstanding fines from previous seasons are not eligible for team selection. The senior men's team also has a competitive fixture schedule.
