About
David’s got something special brewing at Sonnets Theatre Arts School in Salisbury, and it’s not just for the budding thespians. Here’s the scoop for all you sports players looking to mix things up a bit.
Sonnets is all about giving kids the skills to shine—whether on stage or on the pitch. David, the brains behind all this, runs a brilliant programme where youngsters dive into drama, dance, and all things performing arts. And, don’t worry, no one’s asking you to read Shakespeare—unless you want to!
For the Minis, those 4-6-year-olds, it’s all about fun with drama, singing, and dancing. Think of it as a playground for creativity. They get to be characters from stories, singing and dancing to tunes they know and love. Helps with teamwork and confidence—key skills you’ve probably already nailed on the field.
Now, for the 7-11-year-olds, Sonnets Juniors ramps it up. Over here, it’s more about building those life skills you’ve been honing, like thinking on your feet and projecting your voice—perfect for calling plays or grabbing attention in those huddle-ups. They dabble in everything from mime to improvisation, sharpening their ability to communicate without flinching.
Classes kick off in Andover on Saturday 6 January and in Newbury on Friday 12 January 2024. David’s inviting you to get in touch for a free taster class—yes, that’s right, free! Just drop him an email or a text. And keep in mind, he’s a teacher by day, so give him a moment to respond.
Stay tuned with @Sonnetstas on social media for updates, pics, and all the backstage fun. So, lace up those trainers, and let’s get dramatic!
