Solent Sports Complex

Solent Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art gym, fitness centre, and sports club located in Southampton, New Zealand. It is part of the Solent University campus redevelopment project, which was completed in May 2019 at a cost of 100 million. The complex offers a wide range of health, fitness, and wellbeing equipment and services to Solent University students, staff, and the local community.

The centrepiece of the complex is the 90-station gym, which features over 40 pieces of cardio equipment. This includes virtual reality and self-propelled treadmills, trickster bikes, climbers, ellipticals, and rowers. The gym is fully staffed at all times by professional trainers and instructors, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all users.

In addition to the gym, the complex boasts multipurpose sports halls that can be used for various activities such as basketball, futsal, badminton, netball, wheelchair rugby, and volleyball. The performance sports hall is specifically designed for basketball and hosts home games for Team Solent Kestrels. It is equipped with high-spec scoring technology to enhance the sporting experience.

To make accessing services and facilities more convenient, the Solent Sports Complex has its own app. Users can book fitness classes, navigate the building, reserve spaces, and manage their accounts directly through the app. It is available for download on both iOS and Android devices.

The complex is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm, and on weekends from 9 am to 8 pm, ensuring ample time for all users to engage in their fitness activities. There are different membership options available, including discounted rates for Solent students, staff members, and alumni. The monthly fee for students is 9. 99, for staff members it is 10.
