The Brisbane Volleyball Club is excited to promote their upcoming Social League event, a local competition catering to volleyball players of all levels. With divisions tailored for beginners through to advanced players, this league offers something for everyone.
Run throughout the year, the league takes breaks only for public holidays and a brief week off between seasons. This ensures that players have the opportunity to stay engaged in the sport they love. The Brisbane Volleyball Club even provides multiple venues and game days to accommodate various schedules and preferences.
Each season starts with grading rounds to determine divisions for teams and to help match new individual players with suitable teams. Following the grading rounds, teams compete in regular rounds using a round-robin format. This allows each team to play against others in their division, promoting fair competition and camaraderie among players.
The season culminates in thrilling finals, with the format varying depending on the number of teams in each division. Matches are timed and run on schedule, ensuring that players can plan their schedules accordingly. Each match consists of three sets, with the first two sets scored first to 25 points. The final set is played until the match time runs out, with three more points played in the event of a tied score.
Participation in the Social League requires a match fee of $66 per team per match. These fees can be conveniently paid either through EFTPOS at the venue or online via the BVC App. It is important to note that failure to promptly pay fees may result in exclusion from the draw and future seasons, so timely payment is encouraged.
While uniforms are encouraged, they are not mandatory. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment, providing an inclusive environment for all participants.
The league boasts several fantastic venues, including The Gap, South Brisbane, Kedron, Banyo, and Kelvin Grove. For individuals seeking more information or wishing to register, they can contact the league managers overseeing the respective nights. The league's by-laws are reviewed and updated each season to ensure fair play and an enjoyable experience for all.
Individuals can register as a team or as individuals, and the league managers will do their best to accommodate everyone. To join in the fun, interested individuals can simply fill out the Expression of Interest form and reach out to the league managers with any inquiries they may have.
