As instilling discipline and confidence in them. Through my teachings, I hope to guide them towards a path of personal growth and success.
Sensei Aamar's dedication to Karate began at the age of 11 when he started training in Karate-do Goju Kai under Sensei Gurmit Singh. However, at the age of 15, he had to take a break from his training due to the loss of his mother to cancer. During this time, he found himself drawn towards the art of Boxing and even participated in two amateur contests, winning both.
At the age of 17, Sensei Aamar returned to his Karate training with Sensei Gurmit Singh and eventually established the current Slough Dojo at the age of 19 after receiving his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2012. In 2013, he discovered Sensei George Andrews and the teachings of Goju Ryu, and since then, he has been training and teaching the style of Karate-Do Goju Ryu. He successfully passed his 2nd Dan in 2016 and his 3rd Dan in 2019.
Sensei Aamar's decision to open the dojo was driven by his passion for teaching Karate and his personal belief that the discipline and commitment it instils can be instrumental in helping individuals navigate through tough times. He hopes that by teaching Karate-Do, he can provide others with the same sense of safety, security, and positive impact that it has had on his own life. Additionally, he aims to emphasise the importance of self-defence and healthy living, and to serve as a positive role model for the younger generations.
