Levels in the STARSkate program are based on the skater's individual skills and abilities. Skaters in this program develop fundamental figure skating skills in four areas: Skating Skills, Ice Dance, Free Skate, and Interpretive. Skate Amherstburg's STARSkate program is designed for skaters who have completed CanSkate and want to continue developing their figure skating abilities. Skaters work with certified coaches to improve technique, performance, and skill level.
The program also provides opportunities for skaters to compete at various levels and participate in test days to advance through the Skate Canada testing system.
Skate Amherstburg is also home to two synchronized skating teams, providing an opportunity for skaters to work together in a disciplined and coordinated manner. Synchronized skating combines elements of figure skating, ice dancing, and teamwork to create captivating performances on the ice. Our synchronized skating teams compete locally and nationally, showcasing their skills and teamwork to audiences.
