

SiNS Dance is a collective of contemporary dance artists based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, dedicated to creating and showcasing exciting contemporary dance work. Founded by Jacinte Armstrong, Susanne Chui, and Sara Coffin, SiNS serves as a platform for both resident and connected artists to develop their talents and collaborate for the benefit of the local dance community. Under the artistic direction of Jacinte Armstrong, SiNS operates through flexible, project-based partnerships to support creation, production, performance, and touring.
The collective is committed to building collaborative opportunities between Nova Scotia and beyond, fostering exchange and dialogue between artists and audiences. With a focus on the investigative process and continuous growth through the exchange of ideas, SiNS engages a diverse range of dancers and creators in shared learning experiences and the development of new work. Over the years, SiNS has produced over 10 works by artists such as Jacinte Armstrong, Susan Chui, Sara Coffin, and others, which have been showcased in Nova Scotia and toured across Canada.
Jacinte Armstrong, the artistic director of SiNS Dance, is an Acadian artist whose work explores embodied practice through performance, choreography, collaboration, and curation. With a background in dance and a certification as a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, Jacinte brings a wealth of experience to the collective. She regularly performs with SiNS Dance, Mocean Dance, and has been involved in various choreographic projects and initiatives.
