A creative outlet and a second family. I'm excited to take on the role of Show Producer this year and help create an amazing showcase for the company. When I'm not in the dance studio, you can find me exploring the city, trying out new restaurants, and hanging out with friends. I can't wait to see what this season has in store for us!
Silhouettes Dance Company offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for dancers of all skill levels and backgrounds. The company focuses on providing rigorous training while allowing members to pursue their education. With a variety of dance styles and methods to learn from, Silhouettes aims to create a positive atmosphere for members to grow together as artists and as a family. Performances both on and off campus help to increase awareness of dance as an art form.
Established in 2002 by Caryl Mostacho and Alesia Kachur, Silhouettes Dance Company has become a well-known and active member in the University of Toronto and Toronto community. The company relies on university funding, fundraising, and sponsorships to make their annual showcase happen. Donations to the company are greatly appreciated to support their mission of encouraging student involvement in dance and providing low-cost programs for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds.
The company is led by Artistic Directors Heather Gadalla and Henry Lewis, along with Show Producer Rina Salsberg. Their passion for dance and dedication to the company's mission shines through in their roles. The company's 2023/2024 members are a diverse group of dancers who are committed to growing and learning together throughout the season.
