For nearly 40 years, Marie and Kevin Smith have been the driving force behind Silhouette Dance Club in St Helens. With Marie's background as a former Ballroom World Cabaret Champion, they lead a skilled team of over 8 qualified dance teachers offering classes across various styles: from Street and Commercial to Ballet, Tap, and more.
Marie and Kevin recognise the importance of finding the right style for each dancer. To facilitate this, non-members get their first class free. The club operates on a pay-as-you-go system, making it flexible for both seasoned dancers and beginners. Their facilities include two air-conditioned studios and a comfortable waiting area for parents.
Silhouette Dance Club’s annual showcase 'Dancing In The Decades' is a highlight, featuring over 150 performers and drawing in 600 spectators. The club also organises family nights, children's parties, and seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas.
Marie and Kevin are committed to the community, raising funds for various charities such as Willowbrook Hospice and the Ukraine appeal fund through dance displays, raffles, and cake sales.
