Shugyou Karate Do, a prominent Mixed Martial Arts club in Halifax, is excited to announce its upcoming local event! With strong affiliations to the Renshu Kai Karate Association (R.K.K.A) and governed by the respected Amateur Martial Association (WUKF), Shugyou Karate Do is dedicated to providing top-notch karate training to its members.
Under the guidance of Sensei Marc Leacock, an 8th Dan BSKI, and Bassai Dai Seminar 2014, the club offers karate classes for individuals from all walks of life. Sensei Marc Leacock himself has achieved great milestones in the karate world, having successfully completed the Referee course in September 2015 and attaining the prestigious Nidan (2nd Dan) Grade.
Shugyou Karate Do takes great pride in spreading the numerous benefits of karate within the community. It all began back in February 2011, when the club started offering classes at various locations throughout Halifax. These classes, held in school and church halls during the evenings, have seen tremendous growth and popularity.
In January 2012, Shugyou Karate Do welcomed Sensei Charles Gidley, an esteemed instructor with a remarkable 9th Dan, to join their ranks. His technical guidance and expertise have greatly enriched the training offered at the club. It was under Sensei Gidley's influence that Shugyou Karate Do decided to embrace the Shotokan way of training. On May 31st, 2012, the club was officially established, and it has been a member of the esteemed BSKI association ever since.
With a strong foundation and a dedicated team of instructors, Shugyou Karate Do is thrilled to bring you this exciting local Mixed Martial Arts event. It is an opportunity for enthusiasts and players alike to come together, showcase their skills, and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition.
