Welcome to Shropshire Sailing Club! Since 1950, the club's been making waves on the stunning northern shore of Whitemere in Ellesmere. With 250 members, they're all about beautiful sailing spots and a friendly club vibe.
At Shropshire Sailing Club, new members are always welcome, whether you're just starting out, love a bit of racing, or just want to muck about in boats. Alan and his team of top-notch instructors offer sailing courses and fun activities for all experience levels.
The club offers the RYA Start Sailing & Stage 1 Awards for both adults and kids. Recently, nine adults smashed the Level 1 Start Sailing course, and eleven youngsters tackled the Stage 1 course. With Whitemere’s gorgeous weather, it was the perfect place to learn and have a blast on the water. Big shout-out to all the volunteers who make these courses possible!
Recognised by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as a Sailability venue, Shropshire Sailing Club is proud to offer inclusive sailing experiences for everyone.
Beyond the courses, the club’s calendar is packed with events and races. Coming up, they've got the Winter Survivor Series, RYA Safety Boat Courses, and Winter Working Parties. These are great chances to improve your sailing, meet other boat lovers, and help keep the club in top shape.
Members have access to a fleet of club boats and there’s a Club Merchandise shop brimming with quality sailing gear and accessories.
