Show Dance is a vibrant and inclusive dance school located in The Gap, Brisbane. Founded in July 2013 by Cheyene Smythe, the school offers a diverse range of dance styles including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, contemporary, drama, song & dance, and acro. Show Dance caters to students of all ages, from tiny toes to seniors, fostering a sense of community and providing a nurturing environment for students to explore and develop their passion for dance.
The philosophy of Show Dance is centred around nurturing the hopes and dreams of all students by providing them with opportunities and encouraging them to reach their full potential through dance. The school believes that dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another. Emphasising self-expression over impressing others, Show Dance aims to create an enjoyable and encouraging space for students to grow and develop in all aspects of social, physical, and emotional development. The friendships formed within the dance classes often become lifelong connexions.
One of the unique aspects of Show Dance is the emphasis on family involvement. The school welcomes all family members, boys, and girls alike, to enrol and participate in the classes. Show Dance is committed to keeping dance affordable for all families. The school prioritises keeping fees and costume costs to a minimum, ensuring that dance remains accessible to everyone. The annual concert held in term 4 provides students with the opportunity to showcase their hard work to friends and family in a professional theatre setting. Prior to the concert, a photo day is organised where students can have their photos taken by a professional photographer.
Additionally, a whole school music video is filmed to be included on the concert DVD. Participation in the concert and photo day is optional, and the focus is always on creating fun and memorable experiences.

The Show Dance team is led by owner Cheyene Smythe, who has over 15 years of dance experience and specialises in jazz and junior to intermediate hip hop. Assisting in the management of the school is Amity Wolff, who brings her expertise in business and marketing to support the growth and operation of the dance school.
