Welcome to Shotokan Karate Hawke's Bay! Located in Napier, New Zealand, our karate club offers traditional martial arts training for children, teens, and adults. We believe that Shotokan Karate is a powerful physical art that provides an exceptional mind-body exercise.
At our club, we emphasise self-defence techniques, self-control, discipline, and stress management. Whether you're looking for a competitive sport or a philosophy of life, Shotokan Karate can meet your needs. We welcome participants of all ages and skill levels, from recreational practitioners to elite international athletes.
Our dedicated instructors, led by Edmond Otis Sensei, have extensive experience in karate. Otis Sensei has been practising karate since 1967 and is recognised internationally as a competitor, instructor, coach, and judge. Our instructors are committed to developing our students' abilities in all aspects of Shotokan Karate.
We offer training sessions on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Our class timetable can be found on our website for both kids and adults. Classes are held at St. Paul's Hall, conveniently located at 89 Tennyson St.
in the Napier CBD.
