Are you the owner of Shotokan Karate Club of Red Deer?

Each with its own unique set of movements and techniques. These katas are learned and practised by students to improve their skills, focus, and discipline.
The ISKF Shotokan Karate Club of Red Deer is dedicated to upholding the principles and teachings of Gichin Funakoshi, the founding father of modern karate. We strive to help our members seek perfection of character, be faithful, endeavour, respect others, and refrain from violent behaviour. Our club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for people of all ages and skill levels to learn and practice the art of Shotokan Karate.
At our club, students have the opportunity to progress through the ranks and earn different coloured belts as they master the required katas and techniques. Our grading syllabus outlines the kata required for each belt, providing students with a clear path for advancement. We also offer regular training sessions, seminars, tournaments, and special events throughout the year to enhance the learning experience and provide opportunities for students to test their skills in a supportive environment.
Shotokan Kata is a core component of our training program, with students learning and practising the 26 katas that make up the Shotokan Karate system. Kata practice focuses on mastering techniques, form, and timing, while also honing physical and mental discipline. Through diligent practice and dedication, students can improve their technique, focus, and overall understanding of Shotokan Karate.
