Shire Park Bowls Club in Welwyn Garden City is a small, friendly club run by its members. Duncan, the club's organiser, wants to let everyone know about the great opportunities here. New members get a year's free membership, whether they’ve bowled before or not. Duncan and the team pride themselves on being welcoming and helpful to everyone interested.
When summer hits, Shire Park Bowls Club has a full programme with both friendly and competitive matches against local clubs, including those in Hertfordshire. But it doesn’t stop when it gets colder; they’ve got table tennis, carpet bowls, quiz nights, Sunday lunches, and other events to keep everyone busy.
Duncan's inviting everyone to their Open Weekend, coinciding with the Bowls England Big Weekend on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of May. The club will be open from 11am to 4pm each day. Pop in, give bowls a go—just remember to wear flat shoes as they’ve got all the other gear sorted. There’ll be refreshments too.
Fancy joining? The club is easy to find—just behind the village hall on School Lane, Tewin, Herts, AL6 0HT. The car park entrance is on the left, about 40 metres before the village hall.
For more details or membership enquiries, give the Club Secretary a ring at 07552 780236.
Duncan and everyone at Shire Park Bowls Club are eager to welcome you to their active, lively community!
