Hey sports community,
Martin Lamb, the organiser of Shin Sekai Ju-Jitsu, has got some exciting news for everyone! For those of you with kids, rest assured they're in good hands. Every Saturday morning at St Stephen Parish Centre in Bricket Wood, we've got training sessions lined up. Juniors aged 6 to 13 can join from 9am to 10am.
The aim at Shin Sekai Ju-Jitsu Juniors is straightforward: help kids get fitter, improve their coordination, and pick up some self-discipline. And it's not just about the physical stuff; our instructors also focus on values like respect, teamwork, and perseverance.
Now, for a bit of background: Sensei Martin, a 2nd Dan (Nidan) in Ju Jitsu since 2003, along with Sensei Dominic Garcia, a 3rd Dan (Sandan) since 2009, started Shin Sekai Ju Jitsu in 2022. They're both DBS checked, certified in First Aid, and qualified in safeguarding. Your children's safety is definitely a priority.
For the seniors (14 and above), there's a training session every Saturday morning from 10am to 11:30am. From 2nd January 2024, Martin’s adding weekday sessions on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm at Park Street Village Hall. Plus, from 7th January, we’ll have Sunday morning sessions at Colney Heath Village Hall from 10am to 12pm. Martin aims to provide plenty of options to fit everyone’s schedule.
Shin Sekai Ju-Jitsu values community spirit, so Martin's offering a free taster session for those who want to give it a go. Spaces are limited, so it's best to contact in advance. Keep an eye on our News and Updates page for any special promotions or offers for both new and existing members.
The club prides itself on being friendly and inclusive, welcoming everyone – beginners and experienced martial artists alike. Martin believes that Ju-Jitsu is just as relevant today as it was back in the day and is passionate about sharing it with the community.
As for fees, seniors have two options: £40 per month for up to five sessions, or unlimited sessions for £60 per month. There’s also a pay-as-you-go option at £10 per session. Don't forget an annual licence and insurance fee of £20.
For those who need gear, an adult Gi with an embroidered badge is £35, and an adult club t-shirt is £20. Grading fees for Kyu grades are set at £20.
