In particular, the Collier Row Dojo is open to students aged 5 and above. The Collier Row Dojo holds classes on Monday and Thursdays, while the Barkingside Dojo offers classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The school emphasises a holistic approach to martial arts training, with a focus on four key pillars: Karate, Kobudo (traditional Japanese weapon training), Self Defence, and Fitness. In addition to regular Karate classes, Shinka Karate – Collier Row also offers weapons training classes in collaboration with Seishan Karate. These classes cover various weapons including Nunchaku, Jo (4ft staff), Bo (6ft staff), Bokken (Japanese wooden sword), Katana (Japanese “samurai” sword), Tanto (Japanese “short blade” knife), Wakizashi (Japanese “side inserted” sword), Sai, Tonfa, Yawara bo, and Kama.
