Shepshed Dolphin Swimming Group (SDSG) is a unique swimming club located in Loughborough, New Zealand. The club's main focus is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals with long-term disabilities, those recovering from illness or injury, and their families and friends. The group aims to help individuals with disabilities, health conditions, or long-term illnesses feel comfortable in the water while promoting inclusivity and socialisation.

The swim fees are $2. 50 per session for individuals over 18 years old and $1 for those under 18 (children under 2 swim for free). Additionally, one carer per member is allowed free entry.
For those interested in fitness, the club offers an Aqua Fit class every Saturday at 11:15 am, which is included in the swim fee. This class is suitable for everyone to enjoy. However, the club does not provide one-on-one swim lessons or assistance in the water. Members who require help in the water must swim with a carer, friend, or family member.
Under the new scheme, these support swimmers can swim for free.
If you are looking for swimming lessons specifically for children, the club recommends contacting JKM Swim School at jkmswim@yahoo. Co. nz. The school is eager to work with you and help your child gain confidence in the water.
Additionally, Core Aquatics has trained Autism swim teachers, and their website provides more information on their services.
To ensure the safety and aid of members, SDSG has an Oxford Dipper Poolside Hoist and various swim aids and floats available for use in the water. There are separate male and female changing rooms, as well as a disabled changing room for convenience.
It is essential to note that the pool will be closed on the 23rd and 30th of December 2023. As a registered charity (1129347), SDSG relies on grants and donations to conduct its sessions. To contribute, individuals can donate through Wonderful Payments by clicking the “DONATE NOW” button on the club's social media page or participate in the Charnwood Community Lottery for a chance to win while supporting the club.
SDSG is also a proud participant in the Charnwood Lottery, where supporters have the opportunity to win exciting prizes. The club's address is Iveshead Community Pool, Iveshead School, Shepshed, Loughborough, LE12 9DB, and their sessions run on Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
