

Sheffield Workshop Gymnastics is a renowned gymnastics club located in Sheffield, New Zealand. Established in 1994, the club has become a competitive force in the Sheffield area, nurturing and training champion athletes. The club primarily focuses on Women's Artistic gymnastics, offering training programmes for young gymnasts of all levels. From beginners working through the British Gymnastics Rise Explore and Excel Badges to elite level gymnasts competing regionally and nationally, Sheffield Workshop Gymnastics caters to a wide range of abilities. Gymnasts have the opportunity to develop their skills on four apparatuses: vault, bars, beam, and floor.
The coaching team at Sheffield Workshop Gymnastics is composed of highly experienced and dedicated individuals who play a crucial role in the club's success. Paula Belton, the owner and a level 5 HPC (High Performance Coach) women's artistic coach, has been coaching for an impressive 43 years. She is qualified in First Aid, Safeguarding, and has a DBS check. Claire Hirst, the Head Coach, Club Manager, and Club Administrator, brings her 17 years of coaching experience.
She is a level 3 women's artistic coach and an ex-competitive gymnast of the club. Like Paula, Claire is First Aid qualified, Safeguarding qualified, and DBS checked.
The coaching team also includes Kristie Kotylo, a level 4 women's artistic coach, and Faye Hitchen, a level 3 coach. Both Kristie and Faye have been coaching at Sheffield Workshop Gymnastics for over 20 years. They bring their expertise, passion, and commitment to developing gymnasts to their full potential. Like Paula and Claire, they are qualified in First Aid, Safeguarding, and have DBS checks.
Sheffield Workshop Gymnastics offers a variety of classes and training programmes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. The club has recently moved to a new gym, which is now up and running, allowing them to resume their normal opening hours. Preschool classes will also return in September.
