Sharpe Academy is a renowned Drama school, Amateur theatre, College, Dance school, and Performing arts group located in Pinner, North West London. It offers a wide range of programmes and classes for students of all ages who are passionate about pursuing a career in Professional Theatre, Television, and Film.
For full-time students, Sharpe Academy provides a 3-Year Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre & Acting, as well as a 1-Year Industry Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre. These comprehensive programmes are designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the highly competitive entertainment industry.
In addition to their full-time programmes, Sharpe Academy also offers part-time classes for students aged 3-18. These classes include Musical Theatre, Acting, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, and Acrobatics. With classes available on weekends and evenings, students have the flexibility to pursue their passion while balancing other commitments.
Since its establishment in 2008, Sharpe Academy has grown exponentially. What started with only 6 students has now become a thriving community of hundreds of performers. The academy has produced large-scale musicals for young performers and has even opened a theatrical agency to represent its students professionally. Many of their talented students have gone on to perform in the West End, International Tours, TV series, commercials, and films.
Sharpe Academy has achieved several significant milestones throughout its journey. In 2016, the academy broke the Guinness World Record for the Fastest Theatrical Production ever staged by producing Annie the Musical in just 15 hours. They retained the world title for three consecutive years. In 2018, Sharpe celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a grand Musical Theatre Gala performance at The Watford Colosseum, featuring 600 students.
In September 2019, the academy expanded its offerings and became a full-time college, offering a specialised 3-Year Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre and Acting. However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharpe Academy quickly adapted to the new circumstances and transitioned its classes to an online platform. Through Zoom and Instagram LIVE, they successfully ran over 800 online classes for their students, as well as thousands of students from around the world.
Sharpe Academy relocated to newly renovated college buildings at Harrow Arts Centre in October 2020. With state-of-the-art facilities including professional dance studios, theory rooms, rehearsal spaces, and outdoor recreational areas, the academy provides an inspiring environment for students to hone their skills. The Harrow Arts Centre also houses a 500-seat professional theatre, a café/bar, and ample parking. It is conveniently located next to an Everyone Active Swimming Pool and just a two-minute walk from Hatch End Train Station, offering direct access to London Euston.
Currently, Sharpe Academy has 36 full-time students registered and continues to teach hundreds of part-time students with classes in Musical Theatre, Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Acrobatics. With a strong commitment to excellence and a passion for nurturing talent, Sharpe Academy remains a leading institution in the performing arts industry.
