Sevenoaks Suns Basketball Club, based in Guildford, has made a significant mark in the national basketball scene since its establishment in 2005. Run by dedicated organiser Sarah, the club focuses on delivering top-notch training for players aged five to adults. With a membership base of 400, the club emphasises community and player development.

The Suns' Junior Academy caters to all skill levels, offering advanced training and participation in local tournaments and The National League. Sarah is particularly proud of the Men's Teams and the Women's Professional Team, the latter being the most successful in the Women's British Basketball League history.

Sarah views basketball as a valuable educational tool that promotes personal growth. The club is committed to creating a safe and supportive space for players from diverse backgrounds. Teamwork and discipline are core values, teaching players the focus and effort needed to excel both on and off the court. Challenges are seen as chances for development.

Training sessions led by professional coaches are held across Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, and Tonbridge. These sessions aim to help players enhance their skills and basketball knowledge. Whether aiming to improve or simply enjoy the game, Sevenoaks Suns offers an inclusive environment for all.

The club has seen outstanding success, especially with its girls' and women's teams. The girls' programme has won 25 national championships across all age groups. Many Suns players have represented England and Great Britain, and some have pursued basketball careers and education in the United States.

The Women's British Basketball League (WBBL) team from Sevenoaks Suns boasts numerous achievements. They have secured three consecutive WBBL Playoff Championships, the WBBL Trophy in 2017, and the WBBL League Championship in 2018 and 2019. Notably, they had an undefeated League campaign in 2018-19, going 22-0, and set a record with a 34-game League winning streak. They also achieved a remarkable 53-2 league record over the past three seasons and won the WBBL Cup in 2020.

The junior girls' programme has also thrived, with numerous national championships and players representing England or Great Britain. The club plays a vital role in nurturing young athletes, with many going on to compete at university level.
