Susan Jordan wants to invite everyone in the sports community to join Seniors Dance, a well-known dance school in Auckland tailored for older adults. The school aims to promote health, creativity, and social interaction through dance. Classes are conveniently held in two locations: Mt Albert and Henderson.
In Mt Albert, classes run every Monday from 10:00 to 11:00am at St Lukes Church Hall, 704 New North Road. This spacious location provides an excellent environment for participants. The Henderson classes happen on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:00am at Old St Michaels Church within the Corban Estate Arts Centre, 2 Mount Lebanon Lane, offering a unique setting that inspires creativity.
Classes at Seniors Dance are led by professional teachers well-versed in contemporary dance techniques, making the movements easy to learn for all skill levels. The main focus is to help participants improve balance, coordination, joint mobility, and muscle strength, enhancing their overall wellbeing.
Susan Jordan highlights that regular dancing can boost memory and cognitive functions. Besides, participants get to engage in creative expression and learn choreographed routines, adding an artistic touch to their experience.
Seniors Dance is helmed by Susan Jordan and Christina Houghton, both enthusiastic and dedicated to providing a rewarding dance journey for everyone. For those interested, Susan can be contacted at susan@seniorsdance.nz or 021 206 1835, and Christina at christina@seniorsdance.nz or 021 02237414.
Whether you're an experienced dancer or a beginner, Susan Jordan and the team at Seniors Dance welcome all older adults to embrace the joy of movement and explore the benefits of dancing. They look forward to dancing with you!
