Fowey River Hire's Hire Shop is currently closed for winter until Easter 2024. However, if you're interested in hiring equipment during the winter months, you can still make arrangements by sending us a message on our Contact Tab or by leaving a voicemail on our shop lines. Please note that self-drive boat hires will be unavailable from November 1st until they are relaunched for Easter.
If you're looking for a fun and enjoyable way to experience the enchanting Fowey Harbour, then Fowey River Hire has got you covered. We offer a variety of boats suitable for up to 7 people, providing ample space onboard to comfortably pack a picnic or your fishing gear. There are endless places to discover, from beautiful beaches and hidden creeks to charming riverside villages perfect for exploration. Rest assured, you'll create memories to cherish.
No previous experience is required as our boats are easy to manoeuvre, and you won't need a boat license either. Our friendly and experienced team will provide you with full instructions on operating the boat's controls. Our vessels are incredibly stable and sturdy, equipped with either a new electric start 8hp engine or a manual pull start 5hp engine. Additionally, we'll offer you guidance on the best places to visit during your hire and provide you with a map to take along.
For your safety, we provide suitable buoyancy aids or life jackets for everyone on board. Our boats come fully equipped with paddles, ropes, an anchor, and all the fuel you'll need. To hire a boat for self-driving, at least one member of your group must be 18 years of age or older and will be designated as the Boat Captain. While you can explore as much of the River Fowey as you'd like, please remember not to venture beyond the harbour limits and out to sea.
At Fowey River Hire, we happily welcome dogs on board all our hire boats. Unfortunately, we do not offer doggie life jackets, so please plan accordingly. Our morning hires start from 10:00 am and must be returned by 1:00 pm, while our afternoon hires begin at 1:30 pm and must be returned by 5:00 pm. If you require hires outside these times, feel free to contact us in advance, and we'll be happy to make arrangements.
