This event, titled “Self Defence & Tai Chi Application Classes,” offers participants the opportunity to delve deeper into the art of Tai Chi and learn valuable self-defence techniques.
Tai Chi Chuan is a renowned martial art system originating from China. It is known for its emphasis on the use of inner strength to counteract external forces. By mastering the principles of Tai Chi, individuals can effortlessly deflect strong physical attacks with minimal effort. The practice of Tai Chi involves understanding concepts such as 'soft to overcome hard,' 'hollow and solid,' 'opening and closing,' and the crucial aspect of body posture known as 'double weightedness.'
To participate in these classes, students must have already completed the hand form training with the school for a minimum of 12 months. This requirement ensures that participants have a solid foundation in Tai Chi before delving into the realm of self-defence techniques and applications. The classes are held at the Ditton Community Centre, located on Dundalk Road in Widnes. You can join the class every Tuesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.15pm.
