Seishin Karate Club Corby, situated in Corby, Northamptonshire, is a welcoming space for anyone interested in learning Karate. The club, under the guidance of Sensei Ben and Sensei Ian, focuses on effective and practical Karate, combining fitness, self-defence, and personal growth.
The club’s name, “Seishin,” means “spirit” in Japanese, emphasising the development of the soul, will, and mindfulness. Safety is a priority, ensuring all training sessions are conducted in a secure environment.
Sensei Ben and Sensei Ian have more than 30 years of Karate experience between them. Sensei Ian, who began his journey with Thai Boxing and later explored Koryu Japanese Ju Jitsu and Nihon Kobudo UK, found his passion for Karate through his daughter's interest. Both instructors have trained with renowned Karate experts across the UK.
Seishin Karate Club Corby welcomes members of all skill levels. The teaching is grounded in practical self-defence, with techniques classified as either self-protection or sport Karate. This approach ensures members understand the skills they're developing.
While Seishin Karate Club values the principles of sports Karate, its primary emphasis is on self-protection. The club promotes character, integrity, perseverance, respect, self-control, and fun, aiming to equip members with physical skills as well as fostering personal growth.
