Members of Seishin Kai Iaido train in the Iaido styles of the All Japan Kendo Federation and Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu iaido. These styles have a long history and are deeply rooted in Japanese swordsmanship. The founder of the Tensin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu, Izasa Ianao, developed the art of iai-jutsu, which laid the foundation for Iaido as we know it today. Seishin Kai Iaido traces its lineage back to these origins.
Training sessions are held at the 1st Kew Scout Hall, situated on Willsmere Rd at the corner of Kellett Grove. Seishin Kai Iaido is led by a team of experienced and accredited instructors. Richard Ward, a 5th Dan, heads the school alongside Suzanne Rogers, a 3rd Dan, and Mark Howard, a 2nd Dan. These instructors have been recognised by the Australian Kendo Renmei and hold current Victorian Government issued Working With Children certification. Their expertise ensures that members receive the highest quality training and guidance.
