

Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre, located in Bradford, is a registered charity dedicated to addressing health, social, and economic issues affecting individuals in the local community and beyond. Their Vitality Project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, provides support and resources to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
The centre offers a range of activities, sports, and support services. They provide free 1-2-1 advice, information, and guidance to anyone in need of support. This includes assistance with benefit entitlements and appeals, utility discounts and budgeting, form-filling, and foodbank referrals. Appointments are available Monday to Thursday, and sessions will be closed for Christmas from Thursday 21st December to Monday 8th January 2024.
For those seeking employment support, the centre offers free 1-2-1 sessions to help individuals find work or improve their skills to advance their careers. This includes assistance with job searches, applications, CVs, interview preparation and practise, and work experience/skill building. These sessions take place on Thursdays, and they will be closed for Christmas from Thursday 21st December to Thursday 11th January 2024.
Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre also hosts a Friendship & Craft Group, providing a regular get-together for people interested in building craft skills and making new friends. Participants can learn various crafts such as sewing, card-making, and upcycling, while enjoying a chat and refreshments. This group meets every Monday from 10. 00 A.
M. until 12. 00 noon, and they will be closed for Christmas from Monday 25th December to Monday 8th January 2024.
The centre is also committed to fostering early childhood development through their Toddlers' Stay & Play sessions. These sessions, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1. 00 P. M.
to 3. 00 P. M. , provide a space for pre-school children aged 0 to 4 years and their parents and carers to engage in active play, messy play, and soft play.
They also have a state-of-the-art sensory room and offer a healthy snack break. These sessions will be closed for Christmas from Thursday 21st December to Tuesday 9th January 2024.
For young people aged 6 to 13 years, Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre offers a Youth Club on Tuesdays from 5. 30 P. M. to 8.
00 P. M. This provides a safe and supervised space for youth to connect with their peers. Activities include arts, crafts, baking, team sports, and games.
Themed events are also celebrated. Admission is 3, and a tuck shop is available. The session on the 19th of December is open for regular members only. The Youth Club will then be closed for Christmas from Tuesday 26th December to Tuesday 9th January 2024.
Carers are not forgotten at Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre. They host a monthly well-being session for carers to relax, have fun, and access information and support in a safe space. Quizzes, games, arts and crafts, and updated information and support are provided during these sessions. The next session is on Wednesday 17th January, and future dates are scheduled throughout the year.
For individuals with fibromyalgia and joint, bone, and muscle-associated illnesses, the centre organises a monthly support session. These sessions offer fun and social activities, information and support, and pain management and relaxation techniques. The first session is on Wednesday 24th January, and future dates are scheduled throughout the year.
Lastly, Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre hosts a weekly Man Shed session for men of all ages. This provides a space for men to engage in various activities and projects, as well as socialise and support one another.
