SE19DanceProject, led by Ania, is an inviting dance company based in London, aiming to build a friendly community through dance. They offer classes and projects for both kids and adults, welcoming everyone to join the local dance scene.
Ania's mission is to connect people and ignite artistic expression through dance, regardless of experience. She creates a warm, inclusive space where creativity and exploration are at the forefront. Expect each session to be inspiring and energising.
The team at SE19DanceProject is known for making everyone feel confident and welcome, focusing on both physical and mental well-being. Their classes cater to all experience levels, providing a supportive environment for everyone.
Current projects include MISSION EARTH for children and various classes for adults, offering a range of options to learn new skills and meet others in the community. One notable project is UP THE HILL- INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE CONVERSATIONS, held at the Upper Norwood Library Hub, accessible for residents of Crystal Palace, Penge, Croydon, Sydenham, and nearby areas.
Participants love the inclusive and creative atmosphere. Vanessa praises the accessibility, while Gabriella and Mary highly recommend the classes, commending the welcoming environment and amazing teaching.
Additionally, SE19DanceProject hosts the Dance Conversations group, a weekly meet-up for anyone interested in contemporary dance. This group welcomes all skill levels and backgrounds, fostering a collaborative and creative space.
In collaboration with organisations like RichMix and Stanley Arts, they’ve produced performances such as Conversations – Community Dance Film and Storyland, reflecting local stories and experiences.
SE19DanceProject also runs workshops and dance films, inviting the community to participate in the creation process. These projects showcase contemporary dance techniques and celebrate togetherness and individuality.
Supported by the Upper Norwood Library Hub and Power of Change, SE19DanceProject continues to nurture a caring and creative community through dance. For more info or to book a class, contact Ania at ania@se19dance.co.uk.
