The Kumgang Taekwondo club, known as the School of Martial Arts, is a hub of activity for those interested in the art of taekwondo in Auckland. With the guidance and regulations set by Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ) and its affiliation with the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) based in Seoul, Korea, this club strives for excellence and aims to make a positive impact on the lives of its members.
Throughout the year, Kumgang Taekwondo members have the exciting opportunity to participate in various taekwondo competitions, both locally in New Zealand and even overseas. It's a chance to showcase skills, gain experience, and challenge oneself on a bigger stage. And if that's not enough, the school also organises an incredible taekwondo camp once a year, providing a fantastic and enjoyable experience for participants of all belt levels.
But it's not all about the physical aspects of taekwondo at Kumgang Taekwondo. The club also places great importance on promoting important values, such as raising awareness about bullying through their Bullying Awareness Seminar. It's a valuable way for students to learn about the impact of bullying and how they can contribute to creating a safe and inclusive environment. Additionally, Kumgang Taekwondo offers a highly regarded STAR program that focuses on personal development, which has received tremendous appreciation from both students and parents alike.
For those seeking to advance in their taekwondo journey, the school conducts colour belt promotion tests four times a year. This allows members to progress through the ranks and gain recognition for their dedication and growth. And for the ultimate challenge, the black belt test is held annually, a momentous milestone for any taekwondo practitioner. This year, the school proudly celebrated the success of nine students who achieved their black belts, receiving Kukkiwon certificates from the WTF headquarters in Korea.
With two dojangs (gyms) conveniently located, the School of Martial Arts opens its doors to beginners throughout the year. Anyone interested in taekwondo is welcome to join and experience a free introductory class. There's no need to wait for a specific time to begin your journey; you can jump in at any time and start reaping the benefits right away. And even during school holidays, the club remains open, only taking a short break over the Christmas period.
So, if you're intrigued and want to see what Kumgang Taekwondo has to offer, why not come and have your free lesson at the School of Martial Arts? It's an excellent opportunity to get a taste of the exciting world of taekwondo and join a community that is passionate about the sport and dedicated to personal growth.
