Scarborough Sub Aqua Club 83

Scarborough Sub Aqua Club 83, also known as SSAC, is one of the oldest and most respected scuba diving clubs in the United Kingdom. Established in 1960, the club has been providing BSAC training and offering a wide range of diving experiences to its members for over six decades.

Located in Scarborough, a coastal town in North Yorkshire, SSAC is fortunate to have its own clubhouse and bar where members can gather every Wednesday evening from 8:30 pm onwards. This provides a welcoming and social environment for divers of all levels to connect and share their love for the sport.

What sets SSAC apart is their dedication to providing high-quality training and development opportunities to divers of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver, SSAC ensures that you receive internationally recognised qualifications through a comprehensive training programme. In addition to their excellent training facilities, SSAC is proud to have its own BAUER compressor, which enables members to enjoy plenty of local diving opportunities. The club also has dive boats at their disposal, further enhancing the diving experience for its members.

SSAC comprises a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life. Members have varied interests ranging from snorkelling, wreck diving, underwater photography, marine biology, marine archaeology, and more. However, they all share a common passion for diving and a deep respect for the sea.

As a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), SSAC is committed to promoting safe diving practises and providing support for its members. BSAC is a well-recognised organisation in the UK and overseas, offering insurance coverage, training standards, club support, and advice to its members. SSAC also welcomes divers who have trained with other organisations such as PADI, further enriching the diving community within the club.
