In addition to basketball, Savannah Pride places a strong emphasis on education. We believe that academic success goes hand in hand with athletic development. For young people who are falling behind or struggling in school, we provide a tuition programme to support them with their schoolwork. We firmly believe that education is key to a bright future, and we hold our players accountable by linking their academic progress to their ability to participate in basketball activities.

By instilling a sense of responsibility and commitment to education, we aim to empower our players to become well-rounded individuals both on and off the court.

Community is the heart and soul of Savannah Pride. From its inception, the club has been deeply rooted in creating a positive and inclusive environment for all young people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or gender. Initially established to assist South Sudanese refugee youth in their settlement journey, Savannah Pride has since grown to be an all-inclusive organisation that attracts young people from all walks of life. Our coaches and volunteers work closely with parents, families, educators, schools, community organisations, police, and local and state politicians to build a safe and supportive community for our players.

We believe that by nurturing the whole person, not just their basketball skills, we are fostering a sense of belonging and purpose in our players.

Savannah Prides impact can be seen in three key areas: competitive basketball, community, and education. Through our basketball programme, we have seen players go on to achieve great success, such as college basketball programmes in the USA, the National Basketball League (NBL), and state representative levels in NSW. Our players have also received full scholarships to prestigious private schools like Newington College. In the community, Savannah Pride continues to make a significant difference by providing mentorship, cultural guidance, and support to young people from diverse backgrounds.
