Just a quick note from Rebecca, your organiser at Sasori Shotokan Karate Club's Chelsea branch. Founded back in 1983, Rebecca’s been proud to see the club becoming a staple in the London martial arts scene. With A G Sanna sensei at the helm - a respected Rokudan (6th Dan) Black Belt - it’s been an exciting journey for everyone involved.
At Sasori Shotokan Karate, the focus is pretty straightforward: combining traditional Japanese Karate with modern training methods. We follow the Shotokan Karate principles, which have been a hit since Master Funakoshi introduced them to Japan from Okinawa in 1922.
Whether you're new to karate, returning after a break, or just looking to polish your skills, the club covers all bases with Kihon (basic techniques), Kata (forms), and Kumite (sparring). Rebecca and the team are dedicated to helping everyone achieve their personal best, no matter where you’re starting from.
Karate at Sasori is more than just physical exercise; it’s about developing character too. Rebecca’s pretty firm on the club’s philosophy of focusing on personal growth rather than just victory or defeat. Everyone's welcome here, regardless of physical ability, gender, or age.
The vibe at the club is always supportive and respectful. Our instructors are experienced and hands-on, working closely with students to offer personalised guidance and constructive feedback. There’s always a challenge to push your limits and keep improving, both physically and mentally.
Rebecca also lines up various events, seminars, and workshops to keep things interesting. We've even taken part in top competitions like the SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Championship in Serbia.
If you’re keen on boosting discipline, self-confidence, and fitness while diving into the art of karate, the Chelsea branch of Sasori Shotokan Karate Club is where you want to be. Rebecca invites you to join and start your karate journey with us. Get in touch to kick things off!
