SaskExpress Musical Theatre Studio in Saskatoon is a vibrant and dynamic school that ignites the talents of young performers in Saskatchewan. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Danny Balkwill, the school is dedicated to producing cutting-edge original theatre shows that are relevant to today's generation while appealing to all demographics. Founded in 1980 by Carol Gay Bell, SaskExpress has a rich history rooted in the mentorship of emerging entertainers in Saskatchewan. Originally named Saskatchewan Express, the school was born out of a successful touring show of Saskatchewan performers in celebration of Canada's 100th birthday. Over the years, SaskExpress has evolved into a non-profit cultural organization supported by SaskCulture through the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund.

SaskExpress is committed to providing top-notch training in singing, acting, and dancing for young people aged 3 to 19. With Musical Theatre Studios in Regina and Saskatoon, the school offers a comprehensive program that prepares students for a career in the performing arts. The school also boasts a Junior program called Mini Express & The Expressions, which gives young performers the opportunity to be a part of a touring group and gain valuable performance experience.

In 2017, Danny Balkwill took the helm as Artistic Director and CEO, ushering in a new era for SaskExpress. With a major rebrand in 2017, the school is focused on honouring its past while forging a unique new vision for the future. As SaskExpress celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020, it continues to uphold its commitment to providing exceptional training and opportunities for talented Saskatchewan performers.
