

SA School of Dance, previously known as Soulful School of Dance, is a prominent dance school located in Morrinsville, New Zealand. SA School of Dance offers a wide range of classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Aspiring dancers can choose from ballet, jazz, contemporary, ballroom, and Latin dance. The school is led by Mrs. Harrietanne Norman, the owner and director.
Harriet has an impressive dancing career that has taken her from New Zealand to Australia, China, and England. She is classically trained in Royal Academy of Dance Ballet, achieving an Advanced 2 level, as well as in NZAMD Jazz and Contemporary. Harriet has excelled in all 29 exams and received six NZAMD scholarships. She was also a Contemporary Junior Associate with the New Zealand School of Dance for four years.
In addition to her ballet and contemporary expertise, Harriet has also competed in various dance competitions throughout New Zealand, earning recognition in the RAD 14+ Scholarship and PACANZ for classical ballet. She is skilled in Ballroom and Latin Dance, having won the New Zealand Open Championship for both disciplines. During her time in Melbourne, she trained under top international coaches and competed in Australia, China, and the World Championships in Blackpool, England.
Harriet's passion for dance extends beyond her own performance and competition experiences. She has a Bachelor of Teaching – Primary from the University of Waikato and has completed additional directed study and research on Community Dance. Her dedication to education led her to work as a primary school teacher for three years and teach ESOL for one year at St Paul's Collegiate. Harriet's vision for SA School of Dance is to create a dance studio that accepts everyone and fosters their passion in an authentic and nurturing environment.
She is known for her enthusiasm and charisma, and her goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of her students.
Joining Harriet in the SA School of Dance team is Ella Chambers. Ella has been dancing since she was three years old and has a strong background in jazz ballet, which she has been pursuing for 13 years. In 2021, she also started exploring contemporary dance. Ella has reached the NZAMD Jazz Intermediate and Contemporary Level 5 and even competed in the DanceNZMade competition, where she earned the title of overall champion in the year 11 solo category for the Waikato Regionals.
