The classes varied and challenging. I believe that knowledge is power, so I always aim to educate my clients on the benefits of each exercise and why it is important for their body. This way, they have a deeper understanding of their own physical capabilities and can make informed choices about their health and fitness.
In my Pilates classes, I keep the groups small in order to provide individual attention and ensure that each participant is performing the exercises correctly. The focus of these classes is to develop core strength, mobility, and flexibility, so that individuals can improve their mind/body connexion and postural awareness in their everyday life. Whether they are playing sports or simply doing the school run, my goal is to help them move more efficiently and with better alignment. The classes take place at two locations in Redbourn – Redbourn Primary School and Redbourn Village Hall.
As a personal trainer, I develop tailored training sessions for each client based on their goals. Whether they want to lose weight, train for an event, or simply challenge themselves in new and inspiring ways, I am there to motivate, encourage, and empower them. I plan sessions with short, medium, and long term goals in mind and always strive to improve any postural problems or muscular imbalances. This not only enhances their performance during exercise, but also improves their movement in everyday activities.
Depending on the weather, sessions can take place in a private gym just outside Redbourn or outdoors for some fresh air and natural surroundings. I have a variety of equipment to keep sessions fun and interesting, including boxing gloves, suspension trainers, kettlebells, and foam rollers.
My journey in the fitness industry began when I qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2003 with leading Training. After the birth of my first child, I decided to create a more personalised and relaxed environment for my clients by setting up a studio style gym at my home near Redbourn. I find great satisfaction in seeing my clients' body shapes change and their strength develop through sculpting exercises using weights and resistance training equipment. In 2014, I qualified as a Pilates instructor with Future Fit Training, which has become my ultimate strength and conditioning training.
The slow flowing movements and precise control in Pilates deeply centralise the mind and body, resulting in optimal posture and stability when practised regularly. My Pilates classes incorporate a personal training approach, focusing on strength of movement, release stretches, and adaptations where needed. I also incorporate small equipment to keep the classes varied and challenging.
