Saorsa Swords, located in Glasgow, is a martial arts school that specialises in teaching Scottish Swordsmanship. Founded in 2021 by Instructors Ben and Victoria, their goal is to bring the rich heritage and history of Scottish Swordsmanship to as many people as possible. Saorsa is proud to be part of the rapidly growing Glasgow HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) scene and welcomes everyone to join and learn.
At Saorsa Swords, the instructors prioritise creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. They are committed to being welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. With their combined experience and expertise in fitness, swords, and the treaties they study from, the instructors are always ready to answer any questions students may have. They strive to provide an engaging and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.
Conveniently located in the South Side of Glasgow on Crawfurd Road, just a short five-minute walk from Burnside train station, Saorsa runs fencing lessons three times a week. Monday and Saturday are dedicated to Broadsword training, while Tuesdays cover Broadsword and Targe. Additionally, the school offers various courses, including the highly popular Beginners Broadsword Course and Beginners Staff Course.
Saorsa Swords has been recognised for its excellence and commitment to martial arts. They are proud winners of Martial Arts Club of the Year in Scotland's Prestige Awards for two consecutive years. The school also provides a range of services, such as HEMA Classes, Experience Days, and Stage Combat workshops.
