The Sankey Wildcats is a kids' basketball club that was established nine years ago. It currently has seven teams playing in the Warrington Basketball Leagues at the Ball Hall Latchford Warrington. The club's main goal is to bring out the best in young people and help them develop into skilled basketball players and better individuals.
The seven teams cater to different age groups, including Year 2,3,4 Team, Year 5 Team, Year 6 Team, Year 7 Team, Year 8 Team, Year 9&10 Team, and U17s Team. The club is always looking to create new kids' basketball teams to expand its reach. They have a strong relationship with the Cheshire Wire national league team, with 10 players from the club participating in national league basketball.
The Wildcats Basketball Club aims to bring fun, a strong work ethic, and a winning mentality into playing basketball. They emphasise that height is not a requirement to enjoy and excel in the sport. The club welcomes both new starters and experienced basketball players.
Training sessions are held on Sundays at Culcheth High School from 15:00 to 16:00 for Year 5 to Year 8, on Wednesdays at Culcheth High School from 18:00 to 19:00 for Year 7 to U17s, and on Thursdays at Penketh Community Centre from 17:30 to 18:30 for Year 2 to Year 4.
