Established in 1969 by Vidwan S. C. Revanaradhya under the name Sangeetha Bharathi Nritya mattu Kala Sangha, the academy is now led by Guru Smt. Padma Hemanth. Padma's extensive dance background has honed her skills under various renowned gurus, allowing her to impart her knowledge and expertise to students at SNBA. She has curated numerous dance productions and initiated the prestigious 'Kalashri Festival' to showcase young talents in dance, music, and related arts.
Among the academy's achievements are the successful choreography of various productions, as well as the recognition of its students through scholarships and awards such as the CCRT Central Government Scholarships. SNBA has also participated in prestigious national dance shows and festivals, including performances for the Indian Military force. Additionally, workshops led by esteemed professionals in Bharatnatyam and other supporting arts are organized annually for practitioners to enhance their skills.
Guru Padma Subramanium, along with her husband Vidwan B. Hemanth Kumar, continues to lead SNBA in its mission to inspire and educate passionate students in the art of dance. With a legacy spanning nearly three decades, Padma's dedication to her craft has been recognized through various prestigious awards from the Government of Karnataka and other organizations. Students under her guidance have excelled in dance exams, securing top ranks and prestigious scholarships. SNBA's commitment to preserving and innovating traditional dance forms makes it a hub for artistic exploration and growth.
