To inspire and nurture the next generation of dancers who will carry on the traditions of bharatanatyam while also pushing the boundaries of the art form.
The training programming at Sampradaya Dance Academy is designed to provide a comprehensive education in bharatanatyam, covering technical skills, repertoire, theory, performance, and creation. Classes run from September to June, with options for students at the Intermediate and Advanced levels. The academy follows the ISTD curriculum and also offers a Professional Training Program for dancers looking to further their skills and performance opportunities.
In addition to its regular curriculum, Sampradaya Dance Academy also has a joint program with York University, allowing graduates to receive credit towards a degree. The academy is led by the renowned dancer, choreographer, and teacher Lata Pada, who has received numerous awards and honours for her contributions to the arts.
Throughout the year, the students of Sampradaya Dance Academy have the opportunity to showcase their talents at various events and performances. One of the highlights is the Mid-Year Performance in December, where all students come together to display their skills at the Sampradaya Theatre.
