That there will be an enthusiastic cadre of new players from all ages and abilities. I feel that there is such a need here and much potential and desire for the game. And I believe that the island would benefit greatly from promoting squash amongst all age groups. Markus and I have done enough groundwork to know how well squash would fit into the recreational activities available here.

But, for many reasons, mostly to do with commitment of time and energy to my existing ventures, it is now time for me to step back and pass the baton to Markus. I am utterly delighted that the pursuit of a new SSI squash club and community is in good hands. Thank you for the opportunity to have been involved. He organizes the league play and our many social events, and is always willing to answer any squash (or non-squash) related questions. Squash has been a lifetime sport for Steve, and he is proud and excited to help grow the sport on Salt Spring Island.
