Greg here – just wanted to share a little note about Salsa Calientita, his much-loved Monday evening salsa dance class right here in Slough, Berkshire. Located at the Slough Cricket Club on Upton Court Road, Greg's been hosting these lively sessions for over 23 years, and they've become a go-to spot for local salsa enthusiasts.
Every Monday, the fun kicks off at 8:30 pm with a warm-up session. Then, there are three different levels of salsa classes from 8:40 pm to 9:45 pm, catering to everyone from beginners to intermediate dancers. After the classes, club dancing takes over from 9:45 pm until 11 pm. The venue's got air conditioning, a wooden dance floor, and free on-site parking – so you'll be comfortable and ready to dance the night away.
Just a quick heads-up – no outside drinks allowed since there's a bar right there on-site.
On top of the regular classes, Greg organises some fab salsa parties throughout the year. These are the perfect chance for everyone to come together and have a brilliant time dancing. Expect some top DJs like Clay and Stannerz spinning a mix of salsa, bachata, kizomba, and more. Don't miss the Funky Latino Monthly Party on the first Saturday of each month at The Curzon Centre in Beaconsfield.
There's also a Thursday night option at the New Windsor Community Association in Windsor, but those classes are on hold for now. Greg's team is looking forward to starting them up again soon.
Salsa Calientita is all about inclusivity, welcoming dancers of all levels. They offer three class levels: beginners (Level 1), improvers/technique focus (Level 2), and intermediate (Level 3). Beginners usually stick with Level 1 for about six weeks, but it's all about your own pace and progress.
