Sally's Dance Academy, located in Ilford, is a renowned dance school owned by Sally Neal. With her extensive experience in dancing since the age of 3, Sally has undergone exams, shows, and competitions, training under the ISTD & Cecchetti Ballet before switching to the BTDA (British Theatre Dance Association). The school regularly conducts exams in collaboration with the BTDA and puts up a show every 2 years. Additionally, Sally's Dance Academy's students have participated in competitions, local events, and have even appeared in music videos for emerging artists.
While the school encourages all children to take part in these activities, participation is optional. Sally firmly believes that children should join dance classes not only to learn new skills, gain qualifications, and build confidence, but most importantly, to have fun and enjoy themselves. All the teachers at Sally's Dance Academy have been trained by Sally herself from an early age and have also undergone examinations with the BTDA.
Sally's Dance Academy boasts two branches, one in Seven Kings (Ilford) and the other in Kelvedon Hatch (Brentwood). The academy offers classes for students aged 3 to 20 years. All examinations are conducted in collaboration with the BTDA, ensuring the highest quality of dance education. To ensure the safety of all students, all teachers have undergone DBS checks, and the academy has a qualified First Aider and safeguarding officer on site.
A comprehensive SafeGuarding of Children Policy and Parent Code of Conduct is in place, which is made available for all parents to review.
Uniforms for the academy can be ordered through Sally Neal. The specific uniform requirements for each class level are detailed on the academy's website, ensuring that all students are dressed appropriately. In Ilford, infants are required to wear a pink leotard with an attached skirt, while juniors wear a blue or pink leotard with a skirt based on their examination level. Seniors and advanced standard students wear a black leotard without a skirt.
The Kelvedon Hatch branch has its own specific uniform requirements as well.
Sally's Dance Academy's timetable offers a range of classes to cater to different age groups and skill levels. In Ilford, the Saturday classes include Mime/Rose Awards for ages 3–5 years, Preparatory/Primary for ages 6–10 years, Grade 1/2 for ages 10–12 years, Grade 2/3 for ages 12–15 years, and Grade 4 and up for ages 16–20 years. The Kelvedon Hatch branch offers classes for ages 3–5 years on Mondays.
Sally's Dance Academy prides itself on providing high-quality dance education in a safe and nurturing environment. With a strong emphasis on enjoyment and fun, students are encouraged to develop their skills, gain confidence, and create lasting memories.
