The Safeguarding for Martial Arts Coaches course is a virtual classroom experience that focuses on safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The course is split into two parts, with the first part covering safeguarding children and the second part focusing on safeguarding adults. Led by a professional in the field, the course offers interactive syndicate exercises for participants to engage with the presenter and ask questions.
Participants can expect the course to begin at 13:30 and conclude around 15:30, with login details being sent out via email 5 days prior to the event. Topics covered will include safeguarding definitions, relevant legislation, different types of abuse within martial arts coaching, regulations and procedures, responsibilities of designated persons, the 4 R's of safeguarding children, the 6 key principles of safeguarding, safeguarding for vulnerable adults, safe recruitment practices, and open Q&A sessions.
