Tamworth Sailing Club is excited to announce the upcoming RYA Youth Sailing Course tailored for absolute beginners and novice sailors aiming to complete Stage 1, 2, or 3. This course is a fantastic opportunity for young individuals looking to develop essential sailing skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.
The course is scheduled for Saturdays on June 15th, 29th, and July 13th, 2024, kicking off at 9:00 am and wrapping up at 2:45 pm each day. Participants will have the chance to work towards completing stages with skills being signed off upon achievement, and certificates will be handed out upon successful completion of a stage.
During the course, students will benefit from small group instruction, with a teaching ratio of 1 instructor to 6 students. This personalized approach ensures that each participant receives individual attention and guidance throughout the training. Please be aware of the small charge associated with this course, in addition to membership fees.
Safety is paramount at Tamworth Sailing Club, requiring all junior members to wear buoyancy aids and helmets while on the water. A responsible adult must be present during each session to oversee participants. Furthermore, theory work from the appropriate RYA Handbook may be assigned for completion at home to complement practical skills practiced during the sessions.
