British Offshore Sailing School in Southampton, United Kingdom is excited to announce the upcoming RYA Day Skipper Theory and Practical Course. This 9-day program is perfect for teenagers aged 16 and over who are looking to enhance their sailing skills.
The course kicks off on a Saturday and wraps up the following Sunday, with the first 4 days dedicated to classroom learning of the RYA Day Skipper shore-based syllabus. The remaining 5 days will be out at sea, where participants will have hands-on experience navigating, handling the yacht, and practicing various boat maneuvers.
From night sailing to emergency procedures, the course covers a wide range of topics including meteorology, sail trim, and passage planning. By the end of the program, successful participants will be equipped to tackle short coastal passages by day in both tidal and non-tidal waters.
