Solent Jet Ski – Jet ski training centre, a Sailing club in Southampton, is excited to announce the upcoming RYA Advanced Powerboat Course! This highly anticipated event aims to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to confidently handle their powerboat in challenging conditions.
Over the course of two days, participants will delve into a range of topics, from mastering waves and travelling at high speeds to navigating during the night. With a focus on enhancing skills, the course covers essential areas such as GPS navigation, boat handling, night navigation, planning speed navigation, search patterns, and rough weather handling skills.
To ensure personalised attention and effective learning, each boat will have a maximum of three students per instructor. In order to join this course, applicants are required to hold qualifications from the RYA Powerboat Level 2, possess navigation knowledge up to RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased, be trained in RYA First Aid, and hold RYA SRC qualifications. Additionally, participants must be 17 years or older, and if they are below 18 years, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
