About

Rupertswood Cricket Club, Sunbury, known as the “Birthplace of The Ashes,” is a cricket club that aims to foster youth development, sportsmanship, excellence, and professionalism on and off the field. Guided by the Salesian ethos, club values, and strong leadership, the club seeks to create a positive and inclusive environment for players to participate, learn, and succeed.

The club is grateful to its sponsors, including Club Sunbury, McDonald's Sunbury & Gisborne, Intersport Sunbury, O'Shannassy Meats & Poultry, ICON Sports, Salesian College Sunbury, All Melbourne Constructions, and Good Sports, whose support helps sustain the club's activities and programmes.

Rupertswood Cricket Club offers various teams for all age groups, including the Woolworths Blasters, Juniors, and Seniors. Whether you are a young beginner in the Woolworths Blasters programme or an experienced player in the Seniors, there is a team for you to join and enjoy the great game of cricket.

For the youngest players, the Woolworths Cricket Blast programme is available, starting in October and running until February the following year. Junior Blasters cater to ages 5-7 and provide one hour of fun per session, with parents encouraged to join in. All equipment is supplied, and for a fee of $75, participants receive a Blasters pack and get to wear the colours of their favourite Big Bash heroes. Master Blasters, designed for older juniors, offer a similar experience.

Senior players can look forward to the Senior Presentation Day, which takes place in April, offering an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the season. The event includes a buffet meal, starting at 1:30 PM, followed by presentations at 2:00 PM. The bar will be open for drinks at regular prices.

The club also organises various events throughout the year, such as Last Man Standing, a popular event held in March, offering a fun-filled day of cricket and a spit lunch. It is an excellent opportunity to engage with the club and enjoy a day of sport and camaraderie.

Rupertswood Cricket Club actively encourages boys and girls to join and try junior cricket. In October, the club hosts a Come & Try event for boys and girls interested in playing cricket. Aspiring players can register their interest with Jan Honner, and the event is open to boys under 11, 13, 15, and 17, as well as girls under 15 and 17.
