Running Stars Curl Curl is a physical fitness programme located in North Curl Curl, Australia. This community-based running event welcomes runners, walkers, supporters, and even dogs. The programme is completely free to join, allowing individuals of all fitness levels to participate.
Running Stars Curl Curl meets every Sunday morning at 7:30am at the Curl Curl Netball Courts on Abbott Road. To join, participants are required to register by downloading the app and bring their phone for the first week. After that, they will receive a “Star Pass” to use every week.
There are three different run/walk distances offered at Curl Curl. Participants can choose between a 2. 5 km, 5 km, or a 10 km option for fast and premium runners. The 10 km option requires participants to finish the first 5kms under 30 minutes.
The course at Curl Curl consists of a 2. 5 km loop, and depending on the chosen distance, participants will run 1, 2, or 4 laps. The event is held in a Covid-safe manner, with a Tap & Go System in place to ensure physical distancing. Participants are reminded to stay at home if they are feeling unwell.

For those interested in joining Running Stars Curl Curl, signing up is easy. Participants can sign up on the website, but it is recommended to download the app for access to additional features. On their first event, participants should arrive at least 20 minutes early to meet up with the volunteers. They will receive a free “Star Card” that can be registered against their name.
For subsequent events, participants are required to bring their “Star Card” to record their results each week.
In terms of covid-safety, Running Stars Curl Curl implements a Tap & Go Timing System, ensuring minimal contact and required physical distancing. Results are available instantly on the app once participants tap to complete their run.
Volunteers are highly encouraged to participate in Running Stars Curl Curl. There are various roles available each week, ranging from setting up and packing up the course, to photography, meet and greet, and run leaders. Those interested can speak to the run leader or star commander on the day to inquire about available roles.
